The Experimental Cookbook Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entries into the promotion open at 12:00pm AEDST on 2nd August and close at 11:59am AEDST on 30th August (“Promotional Period”). Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

  2. Submissions can be completed by primary school aged children registered with Camp Australia. No bookings are required to be made to be in the running to win. Winners’ details will be checked in the Camp Australia system to ensure they are registered. Unregistered families will be disqualified.

  3. Submissions can be completed by a Camp Australia partnering school in 2021. Winners’ details will be checked in the Camp Australia system to ensure they are partnered. Schools who are not partnered with Camp Australia will be disqualified.

  4. Submissions can be completed by a Camp Australia employee in 2021. Winners’ details will be checked in the Camp Australia system to ensure they work for Camp Australia. Entries who are not a Camp Australia employee, partner or registered family will be disqualified

  5. To validate an entry, individuals must follow the link to the Woobox Submission page found on https://campaustralia.com.au/cooking-comp filling in all questions and attaching a photo. If all details are not provided the entry will be deemed invalid. One Entry per child. If submission is not following instructions they will not be included in the competition. Parents and/or Guardians must submit on behalf of children. Incomplete submissions will be deemed invalid.

  6. At any time the Promoter is allowed to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

  7. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant.

  8. Winners will be judged by an external party, following a judging criterion. The entries who the judges deem the winners and meet all the mandatory criteria will be deemed the winners of the competition. Winners must give approval to use upload for marketing, only 1 entry per child/staff/partner and meeting the following:

  • a. Fill in all required fields asked on Woobox submission page
  • b. A high quality photo must be included with submission
  • c. An easy-to-follow recipe with clear instructions
  • d. Bonus points awarded for a healthy ingredient being added/substituted
  • e. Inclusion of a healthy aspect i.e. diverse ingredients, low sugar, complex carbohydrates, use of vegetables
  • f. Creative recipe
  • g. Looks and sounds appealing
  • h. Ease of preparation – the recipe needs to be something that almost anyone could replicate
  • i. Age appropriate – is this a recipe that is be prepared by a child of their age? (Rather than just their parents) *applicable for up to 8 years old, and 9 to 12 year old categories
  1. The Promoter may make note of runner up entries and record them in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant wins. Winners will be notified in writing or via telephone within thirty (30) business days of competition closing.

  2. Prizes: Total 50x Custom Recipe Book (the Experimental Cookbook) - $3,000 total prize pool

  3. Prize Categories A total of 50 books will be distributed to the winners. There will be four distinct categories that the prizes will be distributed amongst, including:

  • a. 15x books for children up to 8 years old
  • b. 15x books for children from 9 years old to 12 years old
  • c. 10x books for Camp Australia employees
  • d. 10x books for Camp Australia partnering school employees.
    • if a prize category does not receive equal numbers to prizes allocated, the left over prizes will go back into the prize pull and divided between other categories.
  1. Prize Distribution a. Children - A printed copy of the recipe book will be printed and sent to the winners’ direct address b. Camp Australia Employees - A printed copy of the recipe book will be printed and sent to the winners’ OSHC services c. Partnering school staff members - A printed copy of the recipe book will be printed and sent to the Camp Australia Key Account Managers who will deliver to the school

  2. Once each entry has been assessed and winners have been selected, all submissions will be contacted and informed about the results of the competition. Prizes to be delivered - allowing time for the books to be put together, printed, and sent. If, for any reason, the participants are unable to attend After School Care at a Camp Australia location, the prizes will be sent to a nominated address by the winners.

  3. Unwanted prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. Unclaimed or unwanted prizes will be forfeited. If any prize is unavailable, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

  4. By entering this competition, you agree that Camp Australia has the rights to use your submission in any future marketing and promotion. Once entering should you change your mind and not want your child's submission to be used in marketing and promotion, please write to us at [email protected] and we will consider your request and let you know in writing within 7 calendar days.

  5. If presenting of prize is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

  6. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.

  7. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use / taking of a prize.
