o registered with Camp Australia; and

o attends one or more Handball Championships After School Care Sessions (After School Care) and/or Operation: Handball Championships Rocketeers Vacation Care Sessions (“Vacation Care”) at a participating service (Service).

5.

Maximum Eligible Entries

Only 1 entry is allowed per Eligible Entrant.

6.

Competition Process – Service Championship

Service Championship :

Each day in After School Care (at a participating Service) during the Your OSHC Service Championship Competition Period or each day in Vacation Care during the Rocketeers Service Championship Competition Period, Eligible Entrants will be able to participate in the Competition ( Service Championship). An Eligible Entrant can compete in the “After School Care” Service Championship any day that they are registered to attend the participating Service, and for a maximum of 5 days, during the Your OSHC Service Championship Competition Period. An Eligible Entrant can compete in the “Vacation Care” Service Championship only on the Operation: Handball Championships session at the participating Service, during the Rocketeers Service Championship Competition Period.

The educators at each Service will be responsible for conducting the Competition during the Service Championship Competition Period.

Eligible Entrants will compete in a series of games of handball on days they attend After School Care or Vacation Care at the Service, during which Eligible Entrants will play and collect points. The Eligible Entrants with the highest points on each day will progress to the championship game on the same day, where they will play for extra points.

For removal of doubt, Service Championships will not be held during Before School Care and any games of handball played during Before School Care will NOT be eligible for this Competition.

At the end of the relevant Service Championship Competition Period, the Eligible Entrant that has accumulated the most points in a single session (by attending After School Care or Vacation Care and competing in the Service Championship on any given day) will be the Service Champion of their relevant Service. For removal of doubt, points are not accumulative across several days of the Service Championship Competition Period and Service Champions will be determined based on the Eligible Entrant who can score the highest number of points in a single day. If there are two Eligible Entrants at After School Care with equal highest scores at the same Service and they both attend After School Care on Friday 20 May 2022, they will play off on that day to see who can collect the most points in a 10-minute game of handball. Otherwise, both Eligible Entrants will be considered Service Champions. If there are two Eligible Entrants at Vacation Care with the equal highest scores at the same Service, both Eligible Entrants will play a further game of handball and the Eligible Entrant with the highest number of points in that game will be deemed the Service Champion of that Service.

The Service Champion will win a trophy and an invitation to attend the Regional Championship. There is no additional prize for the winner of a Service Championship.

If an Eligible Entrant attends both After School Care and Vacation Care and is the Service Champion of both After School Care and Vacation Care, then that Eligible Entrant will be deemed the Service Champion of Vacation Care at the Service and the Eligible Entrant with the second highest score at the After School Care at the same Service will also be deemed a Service Champion, subject to that Eligible Entrant not already being a Service Champion.

7.

Competition Process – Regional Championship

Regional Championship :

Camp Australia will hold a Regional Championship for each of the regions identified in Item 9. The Regional Championship is not exclusive to Service Champions, as participants will also include the winners from other handball competitions promoted by Camp Australia.

Each Service Champion will be eligible to compete at their relevant Regional Championship on the Regional Championship Competition Date as set out at Item 10. The Service Champion which has accumulated the most points at their relevant Regional Championship on the Regional Championship Competition Date will be awarded the Regional Championship Prize. There will be four winners (first, second, third and fourth place) for each Regional Championship region identified in Item 9.

In the event of a tie between two (2) or more Service Champions with the same number of points, each tied Service Champion will enter into a further game of handball and the Service Champion who accumulates the highest number of points in that game will be deemed the winner and be awarded the relevant Regional Championship Prize.

The Regional Championship will not be held during the hours of After School Care or Vacation Care (see Item 10). The cost of transport to and attendance at the Regional Championship is not covered by Camp Australia. Every Service Champion who is invited to the Regional Championships must meet their own transportation, accommodation and any other costs associated with attendance at the event.

Camp Australia is not responsible for the supervision of any child at the Regional Championship. Participants at the Regional Championship must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who will have sole responsibility for supervision of the child whilst in attendance.

8.

Criteria

Each Eligible Entrant must follow the Competition rules as determined by Camp Australia. All referee decisions made during the Service Championship Competition Period and on the Regional Championship Competition Date are final.

Eligible Entrants who do not follow the rules may forfeit their place in the Championship. Three warnings will be issued before an Eligible Entrant is asked to leave the Championship. If there is a dispute between two children, it will be left up to the referee on the day to decide an outcome.

The winning Eligible Entrant must win:

1. the Service Championship for their relevant Service at the end of the relevant Service Championship Competition Period; and

2. the Regional Championship on the Regional Championship Competition Date.

9.

Regions

A Regional Championship will be held in each of the following States and Territories:

1. ACT - St Joseph's Primary School - O'Connor

2. NSW - Mount Annan Christian College

Camp Australia may hold more than one Regional Championship in each State and Territory listed above. An up to date list of the locations for the Regional Championships will be available from 11 April 2022 on the Camp Australia website: https://www.campaustralia.com.au/handball.

10.

Regional Championship Competition Date

The Regional Championship will not be held during the hours of After School Care.

The Regional Championship will be held on Sunday 19 June 2022.

11.

Regional Championship Prize

The amount of the prize an individual will receive for winning a Regional Championship is dependent on the total number of Regional Championships (as listed on the Camp Australia website: https://www.campaustralia.com.au/handball) (Regional Championship Prize).

*There will be four Regional Championship Prizes (for first, second, third and fourth place) at each Regional Championship identified on the Camp Australia website (see Item 9). The amount of the prize pool at each Regional Championship is the Total Prize Pool (Regional Championship) divided by the number of Regional Championships. There is a limit of one prize per Eligible Entrant. At each Regional Championship event, the prize pool at that event will be split as follows:

1st Place – 50% of event prize pool

2nd Place – 30% of event prize pool

3rd Place – 15% of event prize pool

4th Place – 5% of event prize pool

12.

Total Prize Pool (Regional Championship)

The Total Prize Pool (Regional Championship) value is AUD $10,000.

For removal of doubt, the Total Prize Pool is for ALL Regional Championships and NOT each Regional Championship.
There are four Regional Championship Prizes for each of the Regional Championships identified on the Camp Australia website (see Item 11).

13.

The winner of each region will be notified at the Regional Championship on the Regional Championship Competition Date.
