For after school care, we’ll collect your child from their classroom to help orientate them to learn where we’re located. A friendly greeting from your coordinator and their team of educators will start them off on the right foot.
We’ll pair them up with a buddy – because OSHC is all about building friendships and we’ll guide your child through exciting experiences to ensure they are comfortable, relaxed and having the best time. At the end of your first session, we’ll send you a text to see how the day went. Your feedback is important, and we want to ensure that we’re always doing the best by your family.
If your child is attending before school care for the first time, we’ll deliver them to their classroom on their first day.
Our unique programming approach, which is tailored to the individual needs and interests of each child who attends, is aligned with the My Time, Our Place Framework for School Age Care in Australia.
The great thing about Your OSHC is that no 2 days are the same. As your child’s needs and interests evolve, so too do our programs.
In every session of before and after school care, your Coordinator and their team of educators hold showcase activities to engage the children in your service. This could include a cooking activity where the children make vegemite scrolls or apple muffins, a sporting activity where everybody gets together for game of hockey or soccer, mindfulness through yoga and meditation, the options are endless.
If your child feels like doing a range of varied and exciting activities in the one session, we always have our experiences zones set up so they have the power of choice and the freedom of variety. These experience zones are often including: board games, art and craft, construction zone, outdoor play, performing arts, mindfulness and more. Plus we have the homework club where our educators are more than happy to sit and work with your child, and the quiet zone for any child that just wants some rest after a long day at school. Depending on your location there’s 3 main day types of term-time OSHC.
At before school care we start your child’s day with a healthy breakfast. We then build their confidence, ahead of the school day, by engaging in a social activity with old friends and new. At after school care we have a bigger activity planned, to help your child learn through the experiences that they have. Plus, we provide a healthy afternoon snack to fuel their young minds.
Our Pupil Free Days see your child experiencing a full-day of varied and tailored experiences. This is a great way for your child to socialise with all their friends on their day off, whilst learning and building confidence. At our pupil free day sessions, we’ll provide your child with a healthy breakfast and afternoon snack – but we do ask that you pack their lunch for the day and any other food that you may want them to have. Also speak to the coordinator at your service to find out what’s planned at your school.
Our advice is always to book in advance. We operate a childcare service governed by Education and Care National Law and Regulations, so we can only operate our services within educator to child ratios and licensed space. The more notice we have on bookings, the better able we are to staff the service to meet your needs.
Bookings for Your OSHC Before and After School Care will be classified as either recurring or casual bookings.
Recurring bookings are for families with a regular schedule. By booking in advance, you can secure a slightly reduced rate with competitive booking and cancellation rules. To secure a recurring booking, you must make a minimum of 2 bookings recurring over more than one week. For example, if you book care this Wednesday for after school, and in the same session make a booking for the following Wednesday afternoon – that is a recurring booking. If you need more flexibility in your schedule, our Casual booking type is perfect for you. Here you don’t need as much notice, and there is no minimum number of bookings that need to be made.
As we understand that not every family’s situation is the same, we offer families the flexibility to select the booking option that best suits your needs. To view the booking options and fees available at your school, click here and search for your school.
For Rocketeers’ school holiday experiences, you simply book into the days or experiences you are interested in as there is only one booking type – single day bookings.
Eligible families can receive subsidies of up to 85% on Your OSHC fees with the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). We strongly recommend you apply for the CCS to determine your eligibility.
Your eligibility for the subsidy is determined by your family’s annual adjusted taxable income, an activity test and the type of childcare service you are using.
To find out if you are eligible, simply log into MyGov and complete your Child Care Subsidy Assessment. You will receive a notification from Centrelink if your claim has been assessed and/or approved.
