Tailored before and after school care experiences children love.
Welcome to Your OSHC
We know that every child is unique, with their own experiences and feelings about starting something new. It’s natural for some children to feel a little anxious about new routines or making friends—especially on their first day of school or Outside School Hours Care. That’s why we’re dedicated to creating a smooth and positive transition, helping them feel secure, confident, and ready to embrace this exciting chapter.
We know that starting something new can be exciting and a little nerve-wracking—for both parents and children! To make sure your child feels at home right from the start, here’s how we make their first day special:
Your Welcome Tour
Before their first session, we invite you and your child to visit the service. One of our Educators will take you on a guided tour, introducing key areas like play zones, quiet spaces, and activity areas. We’ll also introduce your child to our team and other children to help them feel part of the group from the get-go. This is a great chance to share your child’s interests, routines, or anything that will make their day easier.
Buddies and Tailored Activities
On their first day, your child will be paired with a buddy—a friendly face who’s ready to guide them through the fun. Our Educators will also keep a close eye, involving them in exciting games and activities that match their interests. Whether it’s creative arts, sports, or group challenges, there’s something to spark every child’s imagination and help them build confidence while making new friends.
First Day Fun
To make their day even more special, your child will take part in a unique activity to add their personal touch to our Belonging Display—a meaningful way to celebrate their place in our service, spark their imagination, and build confidence while forming new friendships.
Supporting Your Child’s Transition to OSHC
For our youngest adventurers under six, we’ve got an extra layer of care to make sure they feel safe. During their first six weeks of Term 1 (or longer, if needed), one of our friendly staff will personally escort them to and from their classroom and our service. It’s just one of the ways we ensure every child feels supported and comfortable from day one.
End-of-Day Connection and Feedback
At pick-up, an Educator will share a recap of your child’s day, highlighting the fun they had, new friends they made, and their favourite activities. You’ll also receive a follow-up via email or SMS, where you can let us know how we are doing. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us make every child’s experience better.
We understand that starting school can feel a bit daunting, so our programs are here to help your child feel secure, confident and excited about starting school by:
Easing the Transition
We offer a welcoming environment where children can get used to new routines and school life, surrounded by supportive educators.
Building Independence
We encourage children to take on small responsibilities, such as serving themselves afternoon tea or choosing from healthy snack options. This helps them feel more confident and self-reliant as they prepare for the routines of primary school.
Building Friendships
Your child will have the chance to make new friends through group activities, which helps them feel more at ease as they start school.
“The support for our preppie has been amazing this year. He had challenges in daycare before starting school and we were uncertain how he would take to Camp. We started out slowly with just afternoons a few days a week and increasing to some mornings. He loves going to camp, he feels included and supported which is such a relief as a parent. The team at Camp are really supportive”

“In kindergarten it helped my very attached 3-year-old transition into schooling very well, he’s now a very resilient and happy boy.”

“My daughter is only new to school so she was worried about this transition Going to OSHC she got to meet people outside her grade. They are encouraged to interact & she has been working with other students on her spelling, drawing and crafts – it has been so great to see how much she has developed in the last 2 months due to this exposure Thank you to all the great people!”
