What is OSHC?
OSHC stands for Outside School Hours Care – a place where primary school-aged children (typically 5 to 12 years old) can feel safe, supported and inspired outside of regular school hours. At Camp Australia, OSHC includes Before School Care, After School Care and our much-loved Rocketeers Vacation Care during school holidays.
Why families love Your OSHC
We know every family’s routine looks different – that’s why Your OSHC is designed to be flexible, reliable and easy to use. Whether it’s a busy morning before school or you need care into the evening, we’ve got you covered. Our programs even run on Pupil Free Days and throughout the holidays with Rocketeers – so there’s always something exciting for children to look forward to.
What happens at Your OSHC
Every day at Your OSHC is shaped by the children who attend. We take the time to get to know every child and build programs around their interests, passions and learning needs. Using national frameworks like My Time Our Place and the National Quality Standard, along with our very own CA Way, we ensure each session offers meaningful, fun and enriching experiences.
From sport and games, to art and craft, construction, homework support and mindfulness – children have the freedom to choose how they spend their time. We also celebrate special moments throughout the term with feature weeks like National Science Week, Book Week, Big Art Fridays, Big Art Comp and lots more!
What food is there at Your OSHC?
We provide nutritious breakfast in the morning and a healthy snack in the afternoon to help fuel growing minds and bodies. Menus are developed to reflect the tastes and needs of the children in our service, and we accommodate all dietary, religious and cultural requirements.
Plus, we love getting children involved in food preparation! Where possible, we include at least two hands-on cooking experiences every week.
A day in the life at Your OSHC?
No two days are the same, but you can always count on our dedicated Coordinators and educators to create engaging and exciting activities. It might be making vegemite scrolls from scratch, a soccer match on the oval, or a calm yoga session to wind down. Children are free to join in or explore their favourite experience zones – whether that’s art and craft, outdoor play, performing arts, or board games with friends.
