About Chantelle

Hi! I’m Chantelle, a Marine Biologist from the Dolphin Discovery Centre.

I spend lots of time working with loggerhead sea turtles, helping to care for them while they are in rehab. That means I weigh and measure turtles, feed them and even give them medicine to help them get strong and healthy again.

I’ve also worked as a deckhand on a boat with sea lions, helping keep everyone safe while watching these playful animals in their natural habitat. When I’m out on the ocean, I help with whale and dolphin research, studying bottlenose dolphins and several whale species, including humpback whales and pygmy blue whales. By researching whales, we learn where they travel, how healthy they are, how they behave and how humans can better share the ocean with these gentle giants.

A big part of my job is marine education. I work with kids through school incursions and excursions, teaching students about ocean animals, conservation, and how small actions can make a big difference for our oceans.

I love the ocean and sharing cool marine facts, and I can’t wait to answer your questions and explore the underwater world with you!
